Myleage, Day 4: Squeakin' out 1 more visit

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Tom swears this was NOT a set-up! It just so happened that he was in the back seat, takin' a cat nap as Netta coursed the Pilot through the hills of western Kentucky, when aunt Sandra asked if he knew a good place near Louisville to get something to eat.

We were an hour south of the Derby City and Tom knows couple of stellar gourmands -- uncles Glenn and Jody -- who could steer us away from the I-65 greasepits that gloomily appeared to be on dinner's horizon.

It just so happened that a cookout was underway at their Cherokee Park household. And a call for suggestions turned into an impromptu invitation.

Homemade filet mignon with asparagus, cheesy potatoes and greens fresh from their well-appointed organic garden? Sold!

So the trek back to Indy took a scenic sache ... and Myles got to meet some more new relatives -- as well as some friends, two new pooches and Lucky the cat.

We had a great time,
as we always do in Zimmerman-Price land, and the 1 a.m. arrival back
home was definitely worth it!

Thanks, guys! Tell the ghosts we said
hello (and thanks
for the go-home
CD, Glenn ... it really made the 100-mile last leg of the trip through dark, flat southern Indiana more makable!)

With that, Myles'
1,100-mile journey
in 4 days came to
an exhausting but (very fun!) end.
