15 pounds, 2nd-guessing

OK, so the same pediatrician who earlier called Myles Thomas a "Gerber" baby (you know, picture perfect) has revised that statement after a Tuesday check-up showed him to be 15 pounds and 24 inches. At just 10 weeks? The pedestrian laughed and said, "OK, he's the Michelin Man baby."

Frankly, Myles could be 1.5 pounds and 2.4 inches as long as he is happy and healthy. That's how he is progressing. We're a little stumped and a little amazed by the whole 90th percentile (size) and 80th percentile (height) thing, and figuring out the math when trying to estimate the bulk diaper purchases.

We also second-guessed ourselves about a dozen times before going ahead with a pair of multi-vaccine immunization shots. [So much literature out there about the pros and cons.] We are cautious and want to do the "right thing," of course. And, blessedly, no troubles except the whole needle-in-the-thighs followed by a 3 a.m. 101-degree fever the next morning, but the little guy pushed through like the trooper he is.

We are reading to him every day and pointing out objects in the house. He likes Ronnetta's color scheme and taste, and has begun to view his dad with a newfound admiration; no Tom has no breast milk to offer but there are other perks to being held by pop.
